    How do I attend?

    All are invited! You do not need to be a DOVIA Sacramento member to attend this conference (however we do have discounted pricing for new members).  Please  share information about registering for this event with all volunteer engagement and non-profit professionals!

    What is the cost?*

    • $40 for DOVIA members/$60 for non-members
    • Best pricing Option--pay $80 and receive a 1-year membership
    • Best pricing for Agencies--pay $125 and receive membership for two and AL!VE Conference access for two staff.

    Soft Registration deadline: October 18, 2024 by Noon (PST) because we have materials to mail you.

    Meet This Year's Virtual Presentation Team 

    Facilitator Rob Jackson

    Rob Jackson is the facilitator for the conference, and is Director of Rob Jackson Consulting Ltd, a consultancy and training company that helps engage and inspire people to bring about change. Rob has 30 years experience working in the voluntary and community sector, holding a variety of strategic development and senior management roles that have focused on leading and engaging volunteers.

    Adam Janes: Who am I to Have Influence?

    Drawing from his experience in fostering intentional communities, Adam will share how kindness, curiosity, and creativity are key to making an impact and gaining influence. Adam will delve into the significant themes and subtle actions that garnered senior leadership's attention and buy-in during Adam's journey.

    Sarah Sukhram: Vibe Check: What’s Their Why? Learn Your Audience to Influence through Insight!

    Sarah Sukhram, Pasco County Animal Services' Volunteer & Foster Care Coordinator. Recognized for her leadership and dedication, Sarah received the 2023 Emerging Leaders award and was named Pasco County's Employee of the Year.

    Nicole R Smith"The T.A.B.L.E.": Obstacle or Opportunity?

    Nicole, a Panamanian-American, excels as a social impact leader, author, motivational speaker, blogger, podcaster, and dancer. Honored with numerous awards, she actively contributes to her community and various boards, underscoring her commitment to volunteerism.

    Tracey O’Neill: From Seat to Sway: Building Blocks to Manifest your Organisational Influence

    Tracey has over 20 years of leadership in volunteer engagement across not-for-profit, health, and government sectors. She is an Australian social worker and Certified Volunteer Administrator who champions transformative and ethical volunteer management while fostering advanced leadership in the sector.

    FORMAT

    • This event will consist of four 25 minute virtual presentations streamed by AL!VE. Next is a local discussion with DOVIA Sacramento attendees in our own room, followed by watching a moderated Q&A with the other AL!VE presenters that includes responding to questions from the virtual audience.
    • We will have a no-host 45 minute lunch break. Attendees can carpool to a nearby eatery to grab lunch and return for afternoon sessions.

Save the Date

DOVIA Sacramento hosts at least one monthly training opportunity the 2nd Thursday of the month as a "Lunch & Learn" at 11:30am PST or a special event such as our Annual Awards Ceremony each Spring. Save these times and dates on your calendars and look for event invitations in your emails and social media feeds.

June 13 - Best Strategies for the Recruitment and Retention of Latinx Volunteers

*AL!VE Academy Monthly Webinars are free for Individual, Agency and Local Association members.  If you registered as a Local association member, like DOVIA Sacramento, please be sure you list your local association's acronym (DOVIA Sacramento ) in the registration. One example is under last name: Last Name - DOVIA Sacramento.  The general public is welcome to attend, but will be billed $25 after attending and will receive a copy of the slide deck, recording, and attendance certificate upon request.

  • Important notes: 

    • Registration closes 5:00pm Pacific Time the day prior. 
    • Our Board members are volunteers.  Once we are in the learning workshop, we are participating and not checking registration. So sorry, we won't receive an email or a voicemail.
    • Does your organization block Zoom? Be sure to test for Zoom access days in advance so you don't miss the training. Many people use their personal computers to avoid this firewall issue or schedule with IT services for permission. 
    • We send the Zoom link a day or two before the event and the morning of the event (Pacific Time). Sometimes the access email may go to 'promotions,' 'junk,' or 'spam' folders.
